  32. **         Freelance Graphics for Windows Release 2.01    **

  34. Freelance Graphics for Windows Release 2.01 is designed to be
  35. an effective member of Lotus SmartSuite--a suite of applications
  36. designed to look alike and work together with unparalleled 
  37. compatibility.
  38.  
  39. Release 2.01 includes these additions:
  40.  
  41.  * The ability to read .WK4 files from Lotus 1-2-3 Release 4 
  42.    for Windows (as well as files from all previous releases
  43.    of 1-2-3)
  44.  
  45.  * The Start Automatically option in the Edit Screen Show
  46.    dialog box that allows you to start a screen show when
  47.    you choose File Open or when you launch Freelance Graphics
  48.    from a presentation file embedded in an OLE client, for
  49.    example, Lotus Notes
  50.  
  51.  * Enhanced integration with Notes Release 3.0. Doc Info fields
  52.    enable a presentation to exchange information with a Notes
  53.    presentation library database
  54.  
  55.  * When you launch Freelance Graphics Release 2.01 as an 
  56.    OLE object in Notes (or any application that supports
  57.    OLE), the Freelance Graphics start-up sequence guides you

  75. ** Upgrading from Previous Releases of Freelance Graphics **

  77. If you have previously used Freelance Plus or Freelance 
  78. Graphics for DOS, or Freelance Graphics for Windows
  79. Release 1.0, see "For Upgraders" in online Help for information
  80. about using Freelance Graphics for Windows Release 2.01.
  81. These online Help topics also include information about file
  82. compatibility between Releases 1.0, 2.0, and 2.01 of Freelance
  83. Graphics for Windows.

  85. ** Memory and Printer Requirements for the QuickStart 
  86.      Tutorial **
  87.  
  88. Lotus strongly recommends a minimum of 4MB of RAM to run
  89. the QuickStart tutorial.
  90.  
  91. The tutorial also requires that you have a default printer
  92. installed in the Windows Control Panel. If you do not have
  93. a printer connected to your PC or available through a
  94. network, use the Windows Control Panel to install a
  95. PostScript or laser printer driver and set that printer as the
  96. default. (Note that if you installed the QuickStart tutorial,
  97. Freelance Graphics automatically runs the tutorial the first
  98. time you start Freelance Graphics. Therefore, you must have
  99. a default printer installed before you start Freelance Graphics
  100. the first time.)

  102. ** Installing Freelance Graphics for Windows **
  103.  
  104. If you receive an "Access Denied" error during installation,
  105. it may be because you do not have write-access to the LOTUSAPP
  106. directory. If this happens, make a note of the path and file name
  107. displayed in the error message, and contact your network
  108. administrator to have that file placed on your network in the
  109. appropriate directory.
  110.  
  111. When you install Freelance Graphics for Windows on a node for 
  112. the first time, you should be logged on as the actual user, and
  113. not as the network administrator. This allows the LOTUS.INI file
  114. to record the correct path information for Freelance Graphics.
  115.  
  116. ** About the FLW2.INI File **
  117.  
  118. When you install Freelance Graphics for Windows, the
  119. Installation program transfers a file named FLW2.INI to
  120. your Windows directory. This file contains initialization
  121. specifications for Freelance Graphics. The file contains
  122. comments that clearly describe each line. You can also 
  123. see "About the FLW2.INI File" in online Help for more
  124. information.
  125.  
  126. ** Changing Your Display Screen **
  127.  
  128. When you install Freelance Graphics it determines the type
  129. of screen you are using and copies the appropriate program
  130. files to the Freelance Graphics program directory. If
  131. you change your computer's display screen, you must rerun
  132. the Freelance Graphics Install program and click Change
  133. Display Monitor. Then choose the appropriate monitor.
  134.  
  135. ** Improving Your Organization Charts **
  136.  
  137. Freelance Graphics makes it easy to create good-looking
  138. organization charts. But if you try to create a large chart, 
  139. or if your entries are particularly long, the font size may be
  140. too small. In these cases, there are several options you can
  141. try to improve the appearance of your charts:
  142.  
  143.   * Choose a vertical layout (such as laddered list) for the
  144.     bottom layer of the chart in the Organization Chart
  145.     Gallery dialog box.
  146.  
  147.   * Change the size of the organization chart by dragging the
  148.     selection handles. Move the page title if appropriate.
  149.  
  150.   * Increase the text size manually. First, unmark
  151.     "Automatically size entry text" in the Organization Chart
  152.     Gallery dialog box. Then change the text size for the text
  153.     in all the boxes in the chart (using the Organization Chart
  154.     Attributes dialog box). If long lines run over the edge of a
  155.     box, break up the line by pressing CTRL+ENTER.

  157. ** Using Video for Windows Files in Indeo Format **
  158.  
  159. To play a Video for Windows file in Indeo format using an Intel
  160. Indeo add-in board, you need a version of the Indeo video driver
  161. later than 2.1. Contact Intel for more information.
  162.  
  163. ** Running Freelance Graphics with HP NewWave **
  164.  
  165. Freelance Graphics is installed as a tool in HP NewWave.
  166. You can change it to an object, but it is not an HP NewWave
  167. application. See your HP NewWave documentation for more
  168. information.
